Crumpled Paper Art: sculptures of paper
Guided by Kunal Kundu
Not origami, not papier maché, but gesture drawing in 3D. Paper forms its own organic lines that make different forms. We learnt material handling form and posing by first making unicorns.
‘Decadend’
This is a 6-person group art installation project that I was a part of is called 'Decadend.'

It is a portmanteau combining 'decadent' (characterized by or reflecting a state of moral or cultural decline) and 'end' (a final part of something, especially a period of time, an activity, or a story)

Humans have dissected, divided and denaturalised the earth and their relationships to it. But this installation shows the culminating mythic disaster where everything is mixed, submerged and smoked together. Climate change is a reality that feels perhaps too urgent to render as metaphor. However with a medium that is both rigid and light, temporary and easily accessible. There are no soothing earth tones, just the bleached, bleak white terrain; a fountain to represent the cradle of a global civilization. This exhibit focuses on the present moment in all its anxieties, gallows humour and frenetic cultural decline.
